The whisky is made with the same techniques during the reign of King George V and features only whiskies from distilleries operating during that era. The blend includes the Port Ellen Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky from a distillery which no longer exists and whose preserved stock is expensive due to its scarcity . The crystal decanter comes in a silk-lined presentation box with a display holder for showing the bottle in whisky cabinets.

Johnnie Walker Blue Label
Johnnie Walker Blue Label is a blend of the very rarest whiskies, some up to 60 years old. Truly the most acclaimed and exclusive Scotch Whisky in the world. Renowned for its perfect balance it has an overall sense of both freshness and maturity. Its mellow rounded nose is almost devoid of prickle. A sip reveals a velvety mouth-feel and a coincident explosion of flavour evoking hazelnuts, honey, rose petals, sherry and oranges.
Further investigation rewards the connoisseur with the hidden secrets of kumquats, wispy aromatic smoke, sandalwood, tobacco, chocolate and stewed apples. The finish is long and brings a beeswax aftertaste. Johnnie Walker Blue Label can be best enjoyed undiluted from a brandy snifter with a sip of iced water beforehand to clean and cool the palate.
As Blue Label is blended from some of the scarcest and most expensive whiskies in the world, availability is seriously limited. In 1993, a panel of international experts at the International Wine and Spirit Competition awarded Johnnie Walker Blue Label its most prestigious medal, the Gold Medal for the Best Blended Whisky.
