Although the decanter preserves its legendary form (a typical feature of Hennessy since 1947, decorated with grapes in relief), the design of the cap has been magnified. More imposing, it now exists in an embossed material which recalls that of the suitcase.

The X.O Mathusalem is indeed presented in an embossed lambskin case, in a shade of « gunmetal grey », a metallic grey with moiré glints. Its luxurious material, masculine and shiny, plays with the light. This case has the advantages of a contemporary luggage, with its wheels and telescopic handle. It is opened by two elegant tailor-made clasps in brass.

The Hennessy « Fusil », a contemporary design object
For the first time, Hennessy X.O will be tasted following a very special ritual. The “Fusil” is plunged into the decanter to extract a small quantity of this exceptional essence. This technique has been used for several generations at Hennessy, in Cognac, to extract a sample of eau-de-vie from the barrels, to taste and evaluate it. This object is therefore a reference to 240 years of the history of Hennessy and its perpetual quest for excellence in the choice and ageing of its eaux-de-vie. Today, with X.O Mathusalem, this heritage from the past is reinterpreted by Marie-Virginie Berbet, a French designer, in the form of the “Fusil”, an object that is both contemporary and timeless.
