Strong alcoholic liqueur made with herbal extracts, the main herb being wormwood. An emerald green drink with a distinctive taste . Manufactured according to the original French recipe with 70% alc. vol. and a production method that has been improved in excess of today's required standards. All the essential ingredients are carefully selected and processed to ensure the unique taste of Absinthe.
The secret of the production of absinth is connected with various legends. There are even producers obtaining the final effect on the basis of a suitable selection of chemical ingredients and, subsequently, thanks to their mixture with water and spirit. In our firm, we have already mentioned it several times, absinth is produced by maceration, i.e. in the cold way. The maceration of herbs and spices soaked in spirits lasts for several days. The basic component of the herbal blend is wormwood which is not only the source of the properties of taste of the beverage, but also the source of the feared thujon.
Manet, Rimbaud, Jarry, Van Gogh, Gauguin, Degas, Toulouse-Lautrec and Picasso were all heavy users, and if asked, they would tell you they needed the narcotic properties of absinthe to get out of their head enough to render art that had never even been thought of by more conventional artists. Lautrec carried his supply in a hollow cane, Jarry paid homage by painting himself green, Verlaine's presumptuous manner of saying hello became, "I take sugar with it!"
