For centuries, the Stone of Destiny has played a powerful role during the enthroning ceremonies of the ancient Kings & Queens of Scotland, as the seat which gave the seal of authority to the new Royal.
This age-old tradition carries on today. The Stone of Destiny was last used at the Coronation of Her Mahesty Queen Elizabeth II on 2nd June 1953 - on the day Royal Salute Scotch Whisky was launched, as a tribute from Chivas Brothers to the New Queen.
Today, the Stone of Destiny - a symbol of the proud scottish spirit ~ rests under guard in Edinburgh Castle, together with the Sword of State & the other Honours of Scotland until the next Coronation.

Royal Salute 38YO: The Stone of Destiny is named after a legendary symbol signifying the pride of Scottish people. The Stone of Destiny has been the stone used for British royal coronation ceremonies for centuries, symbolizing the approval for the incoming king.
It boasts a rich, luxurious taste that comes only from the best quality, blended from selected rich and strong whiskies. The pinnacle of the Royal Salute range features cedar-wood and crushed almond characters, with a sherried oakiness.
Royal Salute 38YO comes in a beautifully handcrafted, granite-like, porcelain flagon that bears a 24-carat gold-plated stopper reminiscent of the hilt of ancient Scottish swords. Each flagon is beautifully encased in an elegant rich red box with a glossy black finish. It is also the first whiskey with a lock on the box, which opens from the top to convey a more luxurious image.
