Product on stock

Blanton's was the first ever Single Barrel Bourbon in the world, and it set the standards for others to follow. This fantastic product was named after the late Colonel Albert Bacon Blanton (1881-1959), who managed the largest distillery of its day. It was during that time that he created a very special and limited supply of bourbon, which he hand-picked and stored in what now is known as the famous Warehouse H. Blanton's Original Single Barrel Bourbon is aged in one new American oak barrel for at least 8 years, unlike most others, never blended with any other bourbon.

The brand's history

Blanton's was the first single barrel bourbon. It was released in 1984. It was named after Colonel Albert Bacon Blanton, who in 1901 at the age of twenty became superintendent of the distillery. It was reportedly a labor of love for Blanton who led this as the only working distillery in Kentucky during Prohibition (1920 to 1933) and had the distillery back and running within 24 hours of the floodwaters subsiding following the great flood of 1937. Col. Blanton was a pioneer in American bourbon and this whiskey does honor to his name. The Blanton's bottle itself is seductive. Most bourbon bottles are, well, bottles. This one is a jewel. A beautiful round and faceted ornamental glass bottle caresses this fine product and just beckons you to buy her. Atop the cork stopper, sealed in wax, sits a beautiful metal symbol of the great land of bourbon- a Kentucky racehorse and jockey.

Bourbon

Named after the very large county in Kentucky where it was distilled exclusively in the late 1700's, Bourbon is the most famous of all American Whiskies. Today, Bourbon County has been subdivided into many smaller counties that continue to produce 95% of all Bourbon. However, not all American whiskies are Bourbons. To be labeled as Bourbon the whiskey must:

  • Contain natural grains of which at least 51% must be corn
  • Be distilled at less than 160 proof, or 80% alcohol
  • Be aged in charred, new oak barrels
  • Be aged at least 2 years to become a “straight” Bourbon whiskey
  • The spirit must go into the barrel at no more than 125 proof
  • Nothing can be done to alter the flavor or color in any way, from the time it is distilled through bottling. Only water can be added to adjust to barrel and bottling strengths.

Ztotožňuji se s charakteristikou tohot bourbonu. Stručně řečeno je vyjímečný a výborný. Mimo jiné krásná láhev, která je ozdobou každého baru a skvělým námětem k dárku. Mám dva oblíbené bourbony: Blanton´s original s.b. a Woodford reserve. Doporučuji. P.Pavala - manager WiN! Casino Praha.
